Our Church, Our Mission, Our Beliefs
We are an independent Christian church dedicated to making and serving disciples of Jesus Christ! The point of our church is to make disciples of Christ through our mission statement:
Believe, Grow, Connect, and GO!
Mission statement:
Havana Church of Christ exists to make disciples of Jesus who…
Believe…in the Lord, Jesus Christ and accept Him as your Lord and Savior. (Mark 16:16)
Grow…in love, in knowledge, in obedience and in service to Christ. (Ephesians 4:15)
Connect… to God’s people and participate in ministering to others. (Ephesians 4:16)
Go…and tell others the good news about Jesus Christ. (Mark 16:15)
What we believe:
We believe the Bible is the completely reliable and inspired Word of God.
(2 Timothy 3:16)
We believe God has revealed Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
(Deut. 6:4; John 1:1: Heb. 1:8: John 15:26)
We believe God intentionally created the universe and humanity.
(Genesis 1:1)
We believe everyone has sinned and that our sin has separated us from God.
(Romans 3:23)
We believe God has provided the way for us to come into a personal relationship with Him, only through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. We are saved by God’s grace, not by any good works we might do.
(John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8,9; Acts 4:12)
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully divine and fully human, that He came to earth to die on the cross for our sins, was buried, and on the third day rose again. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
(Matthew 16:16; I Corinthians 15:3-5)
We believe that to follow Jesus Christ means we have yielded our lives to Him, turned away from our sins, and professed our faith through baptism by immersion, for forgiveness of sin and the promised gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38)
We believe that God has given us His Holy Spirit so we may live lives that are pleasing to God, and so we might carry the message of God’s love to all people.
(Acts 1:8; Matt. 28:18-20; Gal. 5:22-25)
We believe that God calls Christians to be in community with each other, to participate in the ministry of a local congregation where they can grow in their understanding of God’s Word, and in their love for God and other people.
(Ephesians 4:12-16)
