Caregiver Support Group

Saturday, May 2nd at 9:30am. Contact person: MaryAnn Andrews. Call or text 217-671-3757. This support group is intended to aid others, male and female alike, caring for a loved one who is suffering from a long-term illness, dementia memory deficit, aging or physical incapacities. We are here to share together our difficulties, frustrations and successes. Console during hard time and rejoice in praises.  

 

Garden Party Ladies‘ Tea

Saturday, May 2nd, 2 pm. Join us for an afternoon of fellowship, praise, delicious desserts, door prizes, and of course tea and refreshments. Invite your female friends and family to the Garden Party Ladies’ Tea in our fellowship hall. Tickets are available in foyer to prepare for the number who will attend.

 

Baccalaureate

Everyone is invited to come support and pray for our graduating Seniors on Sunday, May 3rd, 6pm at The Assembly of God.

 

Mother’s Day

Sunday, May 10th during our morning worship service we will be honoring our mothers.

 

Graduates

We would like to honor our graduates. If you have a child that will be graduating high school in May, please submit their information to the church office by May 10th. We will be recognizing our graduates on May 24th during our worship service.

 

National Day of Prayer

Thursday, May 7th, 6:30pm at Havana Church of Christ. The theme this year is "Glorify God Among the Nations, Seeking Him in All Generations," The theme highlights bringing glory to God through prayer, seeking Him across all generations, and celebrating 250 years of heritage.

 

The Bridge (Youth Group)

Our youth group will not be meeting over the summer. We will have special events for Jr & Sr Highers throughout the summer, so watch for details.

 

"Irish Faire"

VBS Kickoff Event on May 16th, 10am-Noon. We need your help to make this kickoff event and Vacation Bible School a success. Please sign up in the foyer to supervise a bounce house, the Irish-themed games, the animals in our petting zoo or to serve snacks or register kids for VBS. See Gwen Boyce to volunteer. Also bring your neighbors, your kids and grandkids; and invite their friends to join in the fun activities and win prizes at the "Irish Faire".  Register now for Emerald Crossing VBS-- June 1-5, 2026!

 

VBS Volunteers

We will meet Monday nights in May at 6pm to prepare for Emerald Crossing VBS the first week in June.

 

Nursery Help Needed

We are currently in need of some extra hands in our nursery (birth – 2 years) and Wee

Worship (3-5 years) department during Sunday School hour and especially during church hour. Anyone from Jr. High and older who has a love for littles – please see Leslie Sickmeyer.

 

Pentecost

Sunday, May 24th is Pentecost. Our special offering will go to Abby Proctor. She is serving as a missionary in Bulgaria. Our church supports her with 10% of our mission giving. There will be a special offering envelope in your bulletin. If you are writing a check make it out to Church of Christ with Abby Proctor in the memo line.

  

Women’s Prayer Meeting

All women are invited to gather Wednesday, May 27th at 9am for a time of prayer and encouragement. Bring your concerns, joys, and praises to share with other women in the church family. Contact Leslie Sickmeyer with any special prayer requests.

 

LSCA Camp Registration

Camp registration is open. Go to www.LSCACamp.org. Our mission team will pay 25% of the cost of camp for those who regularly attend our church & youth group. Contact the church for a code to get 25% off prior to registration.
