New this year, the Havana Church of Christ Mission Team has chosen to sponsor Ozark Christian College, located in Joplin, MO, with 10% of our missions giving. For over eighty years, Ozark Christian College has trained men and women for Christian service.
They offer a strong Bible-centered education. OCC offers undergraduate courses, and Lincoln Seminary offers master's degree courses. They offer Tuesday tours to help students and families get a glimpse of OCC.
Prospective students attend class and chapel, eat lunch with President Proctor, meet professors, and take a campus tour. All high school juniors, seniors, and transfer students who attend the entire event and apply to OCC will receive a $1,400 Ozark scholarship.
They also offer free video resources for everyone. Check out Next Steps on the website for more information: www.occ.edu

What Kind of Music Is Played?
Our worship features a blended style of music, including both familiar hymns and contemporary choruses. Music is led by piano, guitar, bass, and percussion. We understand that people have different tastes, and we strive to create a worship experience that is meaningful for everyone. What Should I Wear? Come as you are! Some attendees wear suits or dresses, while others prefer casual attire, such as khakis or jeans. Whatever you’re comfortable in is perfectly fine. What About Communion? We take communion every Sunday, following the example of the early church (Acts 2:42; 20:7). Communion cups containing a cracker and juice are available when you enter the sanctuary. If you are an immersed believer in Christ, you are welcome to participate. We ask everyone to examine their heart and relationship with Christ before partaking. If you choose not to take communion, simply pass the tray to the next person. I’m Interested in Baptism. What Do I Need to Know? Baptism is a command of Jesus and is closely tied to the moment a person decides to accept Christ as Lord and Savior. We’d love to talk with you about this important step in your faith journey. Is There a Place for My Kids? Absolutely! We prioritize ministering to youth and children. We have a fully staffed nursery and primary team for children up to age 5. Kids in grades K-4 start in the adult worship service and are dismissed before the sermon to attend our Grow 252 program, which offers a worship experience tailored to their age group. What About Bible Classes? We offer Bible classes for all ages before the worship service, starting at 9 AM. These include five different adult classes and youth classes ranging from high school to nursery. It’s a great opportunity to learn how the Bible applies to daily life while building connections with others. How Do I Join the Havana Church of Christ? We’d love to welcome you into our church family! If you’re already a baptized believer in Jesus Christ, simply come forward during the invitation, and Pastor Bill will introduce you to the congregation. If you haven’t yet accepted Christ or been baptized by immersion, we invite you to come forward and take this important step. Whether you’re making a first-time decision or transferring your membership, Pastor Bill would be happy to answer any questions. Next Steps If you want to learn more about becoming a Christian, joining the church, or growing in your faith, we encourage you to speak with one of our pastors or elders. Throughout the year, Pastor Bill teaches a “Church of Christ 101” class to help people learn more about who we are and what we believe. Additionally, trained discipleship leaders are available to guide you into a closer relationship with Christ. We’re excited to walk alongside you on your spiritual journey! |
